EDI is an innovative filter equipment in water treatment technology. This technology uses the electric regeneration ion exchange desalination process to replace the traditional mixed ion exchange desalination process DI. High desalination effect is achieved through ion exchange resin and selective ion membrane, and the combined process combined with reverse osmosis makes the water quality of the product water up to 10-15M high-standard product water.
EDI adopts standard component design and can be combined into any system according to requirements, and the water production can reach 1-450m3/h
The raw water is supplied into the EDI system, and the main part flows into the resin/inner membrane part, while the other part flows along the outside of the membrane plate to wash away the ions that permeate out of the membrane.
The resin retains dissolved ions in water.
Under the action of the electrode, the trapped ions move toward the positive electrode, and the cation moves toward the negative electrode.
The cations pass through the cationic membrane and exit the resin/membrane.
Anions pass through the anion membrane and exit the resin/membrane.
The concentrated ions are discharged from the waste water flow path.
Different water quality and water sources require different filter media. At present, the most common filter media in the market are: anthracite filter media, activated carbon filter media, manganese sand filter media, and garnet filter media, etc.
